"Off By-Pass" - I believe this means that while doctors are doing operation on the heart, a machine acts temporarily as Chris' heart and "bypasses" the real heart. When the doctors are done with the procedure on the heart, they re-route the blood back and Chris' heart is back in action.

what exactly is the ross procedure?

what does it mean to be "off of by-pass"?
is Chris sedated? if he's awake, how is he reacting to the respirator (assuming he's on one)?
is Chris on pain medication? will he at least be partially sedated so he can relax and rest?
